PRIVACY, IN PLAIN LANGUAGE

Your photos stay on your device

Mosaipix is designed to collect as little as possible. An imported photo is converted locally in your browser. When you request an AI image or search for an open image, only the text of your request is sent online.

What stays only on your device

  • Photos you select are read and converted by your browser and are never uploaded to Mosaipix.
  • The resulting grid and your coloring progress are saved in browser local storage so you can resume later.
  • Your language preference. You can remove these items by clearing Mosaipix site data in your browser settings.

When you use AI creation

Your written request, selected style, detail level and language are sent to the Mosaipix server, then to Vercel AI Gateway and the image model provider to create the illustration. A photo from your device is never attached to this request.

Mosaipix instructs the provider not to use prompts to train its models. You should still never include personal, confidential or sensitive information in a description.

  • Purpose: create the requested image and protect the service from abuse.
  • Limit: 3 creations per network address in each 24-hour period.
  • Protection: Mosaipix turns the network address into a cryptographic hash before storing it for rate limiting, and the entry expires after 24 hours.

When you search for three open images

The text you enter is used to search Openverse. If a French request is not recognized by the small local dictionary, it may first be translated into a few English keywords by a Google Gemini model through Vercel AI Gateway. Openverse then supplies results and license information.

The chosen image is fetched by the Mosaipix server, then converted locally in your browser. The source image terms and license remain available beside the result.

Audience analytics and technical logs

Mosaipix uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand, in aggregate, viewed pages, devices, browsers, approximate countries and referring sites. It uses no advertising cookie and is not designed to track a person across different websites. Its anonymous session identifier is discarded after 24 hours.

Like any hosted service, Vercel may process technical request information such as IP address, browser, time and requested URL for security, operation and diagnostics. Mosaipix does not sell this data and displays no targeted advertising.

Legal basis, recipients and retention

  • User-requested operation: local photo conversion, AI creation and open-image search.
  • Legitimate interests: security, abuse prevention, diagnostics and aggregate audience analytics.
  • Technical recipients: Vercel (hosting, Analytics and AI Gateway), the selected AI model provider and Openverse for open-image search.
  • Retention: projects until removed from the browser; AI rate-limit hash for 24 hours; email exchanges for as long as needed to handle them, no longer than 12 months unless legally required.
  • These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area under their own contractual safeguards and privacy policies.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection where those rights apply. Write to the address on the About page. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL. Since Mosaipix creates no account, include enough context for your request to be located without sending sensitive data.
